Summary

Irish Twins Myles and Beckett, Artemis Fowl's younger brothers, return in their third and most bizarre adventure yet。

For almost two years, Lord Teddy Bleedham-Drye, the Duke of Scilly, has been plotting revenge against the Fowl Twins, who humiliated him in Book One。 Teddy plans to give them exactly what they deserve: permanent death。

He threatens Myles with his weaponized jet and Beckett and Specialist Lazuli succeed in disarming the aircraft and causing an accident that kills the duke。 But does it really?

Yet another wild ride, omg。 By the end of the book it really felt like it could be a conclusion。 But it was an outstanding and rather strange ride all the way through。

Love it。

This was good, the best in the series, I'm glad Colfer left the best for last。Although, some characters in Book 2 that I really wanted to see here didn't make it, dammit。I've read quite a number of books this year without reviewing them (like 3 or so), but, this one! Lord Teddy's quest for revenge against the Fowl Twins knows no bounds。 As is evidenced by his latest plan involving a jet interrupting Myles' lecture in London, his own death, a booby trapped mortuary, and a cunning will。 It will take all Agent Lazuli's patience and and fairy abilities, all of Beckett's physical maneuverability, all of Myles' brain power, all of a toy troll's strength, a good dose of luck, some handy clones, help from one of Artemis' old frenemies, and perhaps a friendly ghost o Lord Teddy's quest for revenge against the Fowl Twins knows no bounds。 As is evidenced by his latest plan involving a jet interrupting Myles' lecture in London, his own death, a booby trapped mortuary, and a cunning will。 It will take all Agent Lazuli's patience and and fairy abilities, all of Beckett's physical maneuverability, all of Myles' brain power, all of a toy troll's strength, a good dose of luck, some handy clones, help from one of Artemis' old frenemies, and perhaps a friendly ghost or two。。。but even then things don't look so hot for the Regrettables this time。 Or maybe too hot。This was a wild and zany showdown between Lord Teddy and the Fowls as only Eoin Colfer's ineffable imagination could cook up。 I think I like Beckett better each book, and he definitely gets his moments to shine in this one。 Myles can unquestionably be insufferable at times, but he has some scenes in this one that show Beckett and Lazuli's lessons on being a touch more human just might be sinking in。 Lazuli has finally resolved herself to being saddled with the twins and figured out the best way to embrace it without going crazy。 She also gets some more of her past revealed in this one。 There are some encounters with ghosts in this adventure, but they are more humorous than haunting。 I especially enjoyed Daff。 I was most upset with Colfer for killing off someone。 Hmph。 At least they get to hang around somewhat。 (Yes, I know I'm being vague。 I need to vent but I'm avoiding spoilers too, so。。。) All in all a fun time spent with the Regrettables。 Notes on content: No language issues。 No sexual content (some rather young people get married。。。but, well, there's these circumstances that don't make it lovey dovey at all or too weird and not very permanent)。 There's some serious harm threatened at various points, a potential beheading talked about in great detail, seaweed goblins get unwound, one person dies in a plane crash, numerous past poisonings mentioned (and one happens in the present that results in a fatality), and a lot of mindless clones get taken out。 Nothing is bloody, except Myles' field trip to the mortuary checking out a corpse that gets interrupted pretty quickly。 There are some fiery instances that result in possible injuries and clone deaths。 There's one violent passing of gas。 Lord Teddy likes smoking a pipe which Myles internally berates him for。 。。。more

This was my favorite Fowl Twins book of the three。 The ending was weird though。 Just when you think there couldn’t be anymore weird to add to the fairy world, there is was。 This book felt like a coming of age and final chapter for them, and I’m honestly ok to see it end。

3。5 starsAn enjoyable end to the series。 Light-hearted and silly at times but overall heartwarming

Another wildly imaginative entry in the Fowl series。 I love Beckett and his mini-troll, root for Lazuli having to babysit two entirely diverse beings, and really dislike Myles。 Sometimes it's a toss-up between him and Lord Teddy as to who is more annoying and supercilious。 Good fun。 Another wildly imaginative entry in the Fowl series。 I love Beckett and his mini-troll, root for Lazuli having to babysit two entirely diverse beings, and really dislike Myles。 Sometimes it's a toss-up between him and Lord Teddy as to who is more annoying and supercilious。 Good fun。 。。。more

I want to preface this by saying that I've loved the Artemis Fowl books since I was about 8, saw the covers, and aspired to read 'big kid' books。 When I saw I got approved for this I almost screamed from excitement! I think this adventure was full of magic。 In the beginning rather boring but then in the middle part it got really interesting。 I love the ending too。 Is it really the last adventure of the twin?

My sons and I have read all of the Artemis Fowl and Fowl Twins books together。 They are intelligent, funny, and so well written。 We have incorporated several of the sayings into our daily life because there are always awesome moments in the books。 I highly recommend for both kids and adults!

Blijven fijne tussendoortjes, en eigenlijk ook leuker dan de oorspronkelijke Artemis Fowl serie -- vooral door Becket natuurlijk。"Myles was able to do something he called compartmentalize, which meant storing unhelpful emotions in a mind box until he had time to deal with them, but Beckett was a creature who ran on emotions and could not shut them off at will。 In fact, he rarely put anything in boxes。" Blijven fijne tussendoortjes, en eigenlijk ook leuker dan de oorspronkelijke Artemis Fowl serie -- vooral door Becket natuurlijk。"Myles was able to do something he called compartmentalize, which meant storing unhelpful emotions in a mind box until he had time to deal with them, but Beckett was a creature who ran on emotions and could not shut them off at will。 In fact, he rarely put anything in boxes。" 。。。more

I liked it。Hm。 I don't remember if I ever liked Myles but I don't enjoy how he tries to dumb Artemis down。。。 Though that's sibling rivalry- though extreme lol - seems to help Myles try harder so it's not too bad。 I just love Artemis 🤣Beckett just has a weird thought process but that kid is actually smart from what I have gathered 🤣I hope to learn more about Lazuli in the next book though 🤔Good book。 I liked it。Hm。 I don't remember if I ever liked Myles but I don't enjoy how he tries to dumb Artemis down。。。 Though that's sibling rivalry- though extreme lol - seems to help Myles try harder so it's not too bad。 I just love Artemis 🤣Beckett just has a weird thought process but that kid is actually smart from what I have gathered 🤣I hope to learn more about Lazuli in the next book though 🤔Good book。 。。。more

Every book the author manages to up the ridiculous and I love it。Also deep deep cut, but who knew the very first scene in the Artemis Fowl book would be retcon'd to massive importance in the last scene of this book? Beckett says multiple times “We should get Artemis’s help” and they don’t do it。 That sucked, because I kept hoping they’d go there, but they kept denying me my Artemis! 。。。more

Buck wild with a lot of heart to it。 Overall, the Fowl Twins trilogy is not as fantastic as the original Artemis Fowl series, but it's still good reading。 I would recommend it to fans, but would not consider it essential。 This final book rounds off nicely, with some great callbacks。 That ending! And apparently really young (and really fast) because she's about the same age as Artemis and her kid is disturbingly not that young。 Given that fairies age slower, that just makes the potential timeline even worse。 Not to mention I have a formidable distaste for interspecies relationships。 Especially when said species have vastly different aging rates, exacerbating what's likely already a concerning age gap。 C'mooooooon。 Making really good shadows and a cleverly-macgyvered emergency transport device doesn't make things any better。 (hide spoiler)]Juvenile humor was next-level in the worst possible way。 (view spoiler)[ Example: "The trouser-flapping squib was a mere taster, or amuse-bouche as the French might say, for the gargantuan explosion that was to come。" Why the HECK did I have to read that with my own two eyes。 (hide spoiler)]You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself degraded into an utterly banal cliché desperately clinging to the coattails of an exceptionally nuanced series à la the Avatar the Last Airbender comics。["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]> 。。。more

An amazing sequel to the series。 I loved the book through and through。 There were some places where the story was a little slow but besides that, simply brilliant。 Which is only to be expected from such an author as Eoin Colfer。 The duke is back with a convoluted plan to kill the Fowl Twins。 Lazuli is caught in the middle as she helps the twins and finds about her own parenthood。 There's an interesting and long awaited cameo too。 Two, really。 Will the twins best the duke once and for all?
